Android POS Engineer – Payments: Develop Android POS apps, integrate payment solutions, ensure security, and collaborate with teams for enhanced user experience. Fintech experience preferred.

Description

The company is gearing up to launch in-store payments next year and is looking for seasoned Android POS developers to join them. They are backed by tier 1 global VC’s and 2025 is shaping up to be a huge year for the group.

The role

1. Spearhead the design and development of Android POS applications, seamlessly integrating them into the broader payment orchestration framework.
2. Build and evaluate EMV payment solutions to enable real-time transaction processing.
3. Collaborate with backend teams to ensure secure, consistent, and efficient data flow between POS devices and backend infrastructure.
4. Drive the robustness, scalability, and security of payment applications in line with PCI standards, EMV compliance, and other regulatory guidelines.
5. Partner with design, product, and QA teams to elevate user experience and address technical debt.
6. Actively troubleshoot, resolve issues, and refine code to boost performance and enhance user experience.
7. Prepare detailed documentation for technical specs and processes to support high-quality coding standards and project transparency.

Qualifications:

1. Experience in Android app development, with a preference for candidates from fintech or payment system backgrounds.
2. Strong knowledge and experience with EMV, NFC, POS.
3. Demonstrated success in creating and implementing payment solutions tailored for Android POS terminals.
4. Ideally experience working in scale-up environments.
