Senior Procurement Manager – Engineering

This role involves developing and executing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring high-quality engineering products and services are acquired at the best cost. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, supply chain management, and procurement processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category management plans and strategies for the Project & Engineering category.
  • Optimize total cost of ownership in line with procurement policies.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the category for proactive planning and market insight.
  • Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
  • Develop strategic plans for transformation programs.
  • Conduct market research to identify cost-effective and innovative solutions.
  • Manage procurement processes including supplier assessment, financial analysis, RFI, RFQ, and RFPs.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Utilize procurement tools and techniques such as Porter Five Forces, SWOT, PEST, Kraljic matrix, and others to develop sourcing strategies.
  • Drive best-in-class category performance and objective decision-making.

Experience Requirements

  • Proven multi-year experience in procurement organizations.
  • 15+ years in strategic sourcing and category management.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in market research, long-term planning, and risk management.
