Assistant Professor in Architectural Engineering
United Arab Emirates University, Department of Family Medicine inviting applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The department seeks a highly qualified candidate with the following credentials.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
- A Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering with emphasis in one or more of the following areas: Building Technology; Building Construction; Advanced Digital Engineering; Information and Communication Technologies (e.g., BIM, Digital Twins, VR); Building Performance and Simulation; Building Science; Construction Management.
- Proven ability to teach integrated design studios and related subjects at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally recognized institution.
- Strong research credentials with a record of publications in leading scientific journals.
- Proficiency in English, the medium of instruction at UAEU.
- Recent Ph.D. graduates are encouraged to apply; preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience or professional practice.
Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in Architectural Engineering, including basic, advanced, and integrated design studios.
- Contribute to curriculum development and innovation in teaching methods.
- Maintain an active research agenda with publications in top-tier journals.
- Secure competitive research funding.
- Engage in professional service activities and contribute to the department’s development.
- Foster an inclusive academic environment and contribute to the diversity and excellence of the university community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid research track record.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in integrated or advanced design studios, building science, structures, construction management, or related subjects.
- Professional practice experience with a portfolio demonstrating design excellence.
- Proven ability to develop and secure funded research projects involving both undergraduate and graduate students.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with diverse constituencies.
