Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

The Workforce Identity team powers Bring Your Own ID (BYOID) capability for users which is a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) effort that introduces a whole new way for users to sign-in and access GCP resources. BYOID capability allows employees, contractors, and partners of our enterprise customers to securely access GCP resources using their third party identity providers federation mechanisms like OpenID Connect (OIDC) and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML). Our goal is to establish a unified and synchronous federation solution that enables both cloud identity users and federated users to access Google services effortlessly.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities
- Improve the reliability, security, and efficiency of all services and controls owned by the team, meeting GCP’s high engineering and operational standards.
- Define and execute the BYOID goal, strategy, and multi-year roadmap, aligning with customer needs and the broader Google Cloud security strategy. Provide technical direction and architectural guidance, ensuring designs are scalable and resilient.
- Lead, mentor, coach, and grow a high-performing engineering team.
- Partner effectively with cross-functional teams across GCP to deliver integrated solutions. Influence and align with executive stakeholders.
- Drive the development life-cycle for scalable services, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery and operational excellence. Stay current with the latest industry developments in Identity and Cloud Security.
