Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical video system in a technical environment.
  • 1 year of experience in technical troubleshooting, writing code or technical project management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.
  • 2 years of experience in solutions engineering, solutions architecture or software architecture.
  • 2 years of experience with streaming service or in broadcast media digital distribution.
  • Experience with video streaming back-end platforms such as video transport, video processing, Content Delivery Network (CDN) or client Adaptive Bitrate Streaming (ABR) playback.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural guidance and integration support of network and software buildouts for a globally scaled live streaming platform.
  • Collaborate with content companies, third-party aggregators, and vendors to onboard premium live content to YouTube.
  • Design new metrics and refine existing ones to benchmark stream quality and reliability, standardize and convert operational processes.
  • Lead automation initiatives and alert tuning while serving as the executive escalation point for stream impacting issues.
  • Drive a roadmap for operational tooling initiatives, and partner with software engineering teams to design and implement solutions.
