Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in a management consulting, sales operations, business strategy or corporate advisory role.
  • 4 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, strategic partnerships or corporate advisory experience.
  • Experience in multiple critical business areas, with an understanding of the broader industry and engaged landscape.
  • Experience with the News industry.
  • Track record of owning decision-making and execution for projects across multiple teams and business/product areas.
  • Ability to demonstrate thought leadership and collaborate on direction and strategy at the executive level.

The Global News Partnerships Team brings a “one Google” face to the news ecosystem in order to source content used across Google product areas, provide critical support and funding to the ecosystem, drive adoption of Google products, and shape constructive regulation that is in the best interests of Google and the ecosystem.

The News Partnerships Strategy and Operations team are critical business partners in developing partnership strategies, building and aligning operating priorities, and driving global execution. We are critical thinkers, influencers, and leaders with expertise in simplifying the complex and managing scaled programs at pace.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google’s partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000-$267,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the News Partnerships team to define and implement global and regional strategies that align with long-term goals with the news ecosystem.
  • Develop and drive execution of partnership strategies for our products and programs with the news industry.
  • Act as a key connector, highlighting the relevance of broader Search initiatives (product and partnerships) to the news ecosystem. Drive relevant initiatives that bring these connection points to the forefront.
  • Drive planning for News Partnerships, including: guiding market approaches and negotiations, measuring/communicating the impact of our strategies, coordinating with cross-functional Google teams (Product, GAPP, Finance, Legal, and other GBO partnerships teams), and developing executive communications.
