Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
- Experience in programming languages, debugging, systems design, prototyping, demos, or customer workshops.
- Experience engaging with, or presenting to, technical stakeholders or executive leaders.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience selling technical solutions in one or more of the following: infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data management, data analytics, cloud AI, networking, migrations, security.
- Experience building long-term technical strategies to uncover new workloads with customers.
- Experience migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
- Experience driving the entire business cycle (e.g., defining the delivery and consumption plan and transitioning it for execution).
- Experience with security concepts (e.g., encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, pen testing).
- Experience with state or local public sector clients including state, county, and local municipal agencies.
About the job
As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud and AI solutions to customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of these offerings, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business tests, engage in proofs-of-concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will have excellent technical, communication and organizational skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $153,000-$222,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy, participate in planning and supporting targeted sales motions.
- Combine business, programming, and solutions architecture expertise to prove the value of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) across the portfolio through demos, pilots and workshops.
- Design cross-pillar solutions, secure technical wins, define initial delivery plans, and lead customer technical engagement through the solution phase.
- Support post-sales transitions by co-ordinating pricing activities and handing off the final delivery plan to implementation teams.
- Maintain awareness of progress against the delivery plan, provide support to cross-functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration or implementation phases.
