Overview

A large‑scale, government‑backed real estate development company responsible for the delivery and long‑term operation of a complex mixed‑use portfolio across residential, retail, hospitality and cultural assets. The organisation manages projects end‑to‑end, from development and off‑plan sales through to leasing, asset management and operational ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead legal advisor for leasing, asset management and residential sales, supporting commercial, retail and branded residential portfolios throughout development and operational stages.
  • Take end‑to‑end responsibility for the structuring, negotiation and execution of complex real estate documentation, including leasing arrangements, residential sale agreements and operational asset management contracts.
  • Partner closely with leasing, sales and asset management teams, providing proactive legal input during live negotiations, tenant discussions and sales meetings to enable informed commercial decision‑making.
  • Oversee legal aspects of tenant performance, defaults, variations and renewals, guiding the business through disputes and restructuring matters with commercially practical outcomes.
  • Maintain and evolve the leasing and sale contract framework, ensuring documentation remains aligned with business strategy, regulatory requirements and market practices.
  • Act as the day‑to‑day legal owner of the real‑estate portfolio, operating independently, managing matters with minimal escalation and supporting the development of junior legal team members where required.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years of post‑qualification experience and a blend of top‑tier law firm and in‑house experience.
  • Must be common law qualified.
  • Strong experience in leasing and asset management, with the ability to drive complex retail and commercial lease matters for developers/asset owners.
  • Exposure to broad asset lifecycle coverage: asset management, residential and off‑plan sales, tenant issues (defaults/variations) and portfolio operations is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with KSA laws is highly beneficial.
  • Fluency in Arabic is strongly preferred.
