Lead the Asset Management’s ”Investment Advisory and Outsourced CIO” offering for ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients, large corporates and pension funds, delivering institutional-grade portfolio design, oversight and governance using the firm’s investment platform.

Key responsibilities

Client advisory and portfolio strategy

  • Act as lead investment advisor and “virtual CIO” for UHNW families, family offices, large corporates and pension schemes.
  • Work with clients to define investment objectives, risk tolerance, constraints, liquidity needs and time horizons, and translate these into clear investment policies.
  • Design strategic and tactical asset allocations across public markets, alternatives, cash and bespoke solutions aligned to client objectives.
  • Build and oversee multi-asset portfolios using the firm’s funds, mandates and approved external managers where appropriate.
  • Provide ongoing portfolio monitoring, rebalancing recommendations and risk management input.

OCIO / delegated solutions

  • Structure and lead OCIO or delegated-mandate relationships for institutional and UHNW clients (discretionary and advisory-plus).
  • Take accountability for portfolio construction, manager selection (where in scope) and implementation within agreed governance frameworks.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to investment committees, boards, trustees and family councils, explaining performance, positioning and risk.
  • Lead de-risking, asset-liability and liquidity-management discussions for corporates and pension funds.

Product and platform leadership

  • Work closely with portfolio managers, research, alternatives, structuring and product teams to build and refine solutions suitable for UHNW and institutional mandates.
  • Identify gaps in the current product set and drive development of new strategies, model portfolios or bespoke mandates to support advisory/OCIO business growth.
  • Ensure portfolios are implemented efficiently, with attention to costs, execution quality and operational robustness.

Business development and key relationships

  • Partner with relationship managers, institutional sales and private banking teams to originate and win new UHNW, corporate and pension fund mandates.
  • Attend and lead high-level client meetings, pitches and reviews as the senior investment representative.
  • Build the firm’s reputation as a trusted investment partner through thought leadership, client events and participation in industry forums.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of investment advisors/analysts as the business scales.

Governance, risk and compliance

  • Ensure all advice and portfolio recommendations comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements and suitability/appropriateness standards.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation: investment proposals, IC packs, client meeting notes, portfolio guidelines and ongoing monitoring records.
  • Work with risk and compliance to embed best practice in portfolio risk management, product governance and client disclosures.

Required experience

  • 15+ years’ experience in investment advisory, portfolio management or OCIO / fiduciary management, ideally within an asset manager, private bank or institutional consultant.
  • Proven track record advising UHNW / family offices and institutional clients (corporates, pension funds) on multi-asset portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of public markets, alternatives, portfolio construction, risk management and, for pension/corporate clients, basic asset-liability and liquidity considerations.
