Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Construction Management, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in procurement, contracting, or project controls within construction, infrastructure for data center projects.
- Experience in various agreements and bidding methodologies (e.g., lump sum, Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), progressive design-build).
- Experience designing and implementing organizational governance or business processes.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Professional certification in Construction Management or Supply Chain.
- Familiarity with Google’s internal procurement systems (e.g., gVal) and Commodity Procurement Center (CPC) specific should-cost modeling.
- Ability to automate complex workflows and utilize data strategies to reduce administrative burden.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex commercial data into executive-level strategy.

As a Buyout Governance lead, you will be responsible for the integrity, transparency, and velocity of the contractor selection process across the North America portfolio. Reporting into the leadership structure, you will move beyond mere process management to establish a governance framework that balances rigorous financial oversight with the need for accelerated capacity delivery at scale. You will be the architect of award recommendation ecosystem, ensuring that every dollar committed to General Contractors (GCs) and Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) subcontractors is data-driven, compliant, and optimized for project velocity. This role is pivotal in providing leadership with the insights needed to make swift, sound decisions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Design and lead the governance model for GC and MEP award recommendations, ensuring distinct, high-velocity workflows for both engaged and sole-source procurement.
- Act as a key advisor to construction, project controls, and procurement leads to resolve systemic bottlenecks and align regional execution with central strategy .
- Serve as the final authority ensuring all award recommendations and Letters of Negotiation (LONs) align with should-cost benchmarks and Google’s evolving financial guidelines.
- Oversee the development of a centralized, database-driven suite of approval templates and records, prioritizing a user interface that enables consistency and speed.
