Gulf Medical University is seeking a distinguished academic leader to serve as Vice Chancellor – Academics, driving academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement across all colleges and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all academic functions across the university.
- Lead the development and implementation of academic strategies, policies, and standards.
- Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, research, and student outcomes.
- Oversee curriculum development, program expansion, and academic quality assurance.
- Drive accreditation processes (CAA and international bodies) and ensure compliance.
- Promote interdisciplinary education and integration across health professions programs.
- Strengthen research output, innovation, and global academic collaborations.
- Lead faculty recruitment, development, and performance management frameworks.
- Enhance digital transformation in education, including AI, simulation, and e-learning.
- Represent the university in national and international academic forums and partnerships.
Qualification & Experience
- PhD or equivalent terminal degree in medical specialty.
- Minimum 15–20 years of academic experience, including significant leadership roles (Dean /Provost/Vice Chancellor/equivalent).
- Proven experience in academic governance, accreditation, and institutional leadership.
- Strong track record in research, publications, and academic program development.
- Experience in international higher education systems and collaborations.
