Gulf Medical University is seeking a distinguished academic leader to serve as Vice Chancellor – Academics, driving academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement across all colleges and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all academic functions across the university.
  • Lead the development and implementation of academic strategies, policies, and standards.
  • Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, research, and student outcomes.
  • Oversee curriculum development, program expansion, and academic quality assurance.
  • Drive accreditation processes (CAA and international bodies) and ensure compliance.
  • Promote interdisciplinary education and integration across health professions programs.
  • Strengthen research output, innovation, and global academic collaborations.
  • Lead faculty recruitment, development, and performance management frameworks.
  • Enhance digital transformation in education, including AI, simulation, and e-learning.
  • Represent the university in national and international academic forums and partnerships.

Qualification & Experience

  • PhD or equivalent terminal degree in medical specialty.
  • Minimum 15–20 years of academic experience, including significant leadership roles (Dean /Provost/Vice Chancellor/equivalent).
  • Proven experience in academic governance, accreditation, and institutional leadership.
  • Strong track record in research, publications, and academic program development.
  • Experience in international higher education systems and collaborations.
