Job Purpose

The Head of Projects is responsible for delivering the Bank’s key strategic projects, optimising resources, and driving project execution to meet business objectives. This role ensures that all projects are managed efficiently, from conceptualisation through completion, aligning outcomes with organisational goals, and maintaining rigorous standards of quality, budget, and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and oversee large-scale capital projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Develop and implement project management frameworks and best practices to streamline processes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners, fostering collaboration to achieve project milestones.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Oversee project budgeting, resource allocation, and cost management.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to project managers, enabling their growth and effective performance.
  • Engage with senior leadership to communicate project statuses, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Monitor progress and drive continuous improvement across all project phases.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence in project execution.

Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field. Postgraduate qualification or PMP certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in leading capital projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing high-value, complex projects with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies, frameworks, and tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation capabilities.
  • High proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Ability to drive change and foster a high-performance project culture.
