Company Description

Carson Investments is looking for an in‑house Group Accountant. You will own end‑to‑end accounting across our Polish/Dutch holding company and underlying Polish/US funds/entities (~8), as well as Canadian and U.S. subsidiaries where we are a majority shareholder. You’ll lead quarterly stock‑exchange reporting and annual financial statements, coordinate audits, and implement Zoho Books—using AI (ChatGPT) to accelerate high‑quality work.

The role focuses on managing group accounting, consolidation, audits, and process improvements across multiple entities and currencies, leveraging Zoho Books and AI-assisted workflows.

• Own the monthly close for all entities: journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany, and multi‑currency consolidation.
• Quarterly stock‑exchange reporting: prepare reporting packs, MD&A‑style commentary, and disclosures for timely submission; coordinate review/approval workflows.
• Annual financial statements: prepare balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, notes, and consolidation workings; manage year‑end close and audit support.
• Consolidation (once a year): perform group consolidations (multi‑entity, PL/CA/US), eliminations, NCI, and related‑party disclosures under IFRS; reconcile to statutory ledgers.
• Audit liaison: be the primary point of contact for external auditors; maintain PBC lists, evidence, and issue logs until sign‑off.
• Policies & controls: draft and maintain accounting policies, close checklists, and internal controls; document processes with AI‑assisted SOPs.
• Zoho Books rollout: design chart of accounts, tax codes, approval flows, and integrations (banks, expenses, billing); train internal users and migrate data.
• Tax & compliance coordination: coordinate local providers for VAT/GST, corporate income tax, payroll, and statutory filings; maintain calendars and ensure on‑time submissions.
• Cash, AR/AP & treasury hygiene: oversee reconciliations, aging reviews, payment runs, and liquidity reporting; standardize support schedules.
• Management reporting: deliver monthly packs with variance analysis, KPIs, and executive summaries suitable for Board and investor communications.

Qualifications

• Professional credential: ACCA (preferred) or equivalent (CPA, CA, CMA).
• Standards knowledge: Solid IFRS; awareness of U.S. GAAP. Polish GAAP familiarity is a plus.
• Public‑company cadence: Experience preparing or coordinating quarterly/annual reports for a listed company (or equivalent rigor in private groups).
• Systems: Hands‑on with Zoho Books (or similar cloud GLs) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
• AI‑first workflows: Comfortable using ChatGPT as main tool to draft policies, reconciliations, audit responses, and variance narratives—with strong human QA.
• Languages: English—full professional proficiency (C1/C2) is required. Polish is a plus.
• Experience: 3+ years in group accounting/consolidation across multiple entities and currencies.

Nice to have

• Exposure to share‑based payments, warrants/options (IFRS 2) and financial instruments (IFRS 9).
• Prior work with listing/filing processes and cooperation with auditors.
• Experience in holding companies, fintech, or investment groups.

What you’ll deliver in your first 90 days

• Day 60: First consolidated monthly close from Zoho Books; draft accounting policy manual; audit readiness tracker.
• Day 90: On‑time quarter close with exchange‑ready reporting pack and Board‑quality management report; documented SOPs for repeatable closes.

Tools & stack

Zoho Books (core), Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets (Power Query where useful), bank feeds/AP tools, and ChatGPT for documentation, checks, and analytics.

Working style

Independent, detail‑obsessed, deadline‑driven. Able to operate across time zones and coordinate external providers and auditors.
