Overview

English Teacher – Aug 2025 role at GEMS Education . Our English department at GEMS World Academy – Abu Dhabi has transformed student outcomes and inspired a love of learning through the dedication of staff and a forward-thinking approach to data and the curriculum. The department is highly regarded for the care and personal support offered to students. We are seeking an innovative English Teacher to join our successful team from August 2025 .

• Deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for students.




• Contribute to an IB-aligned program and apply the IB philosophy and approaches to teaching.




• Support a non-selective, culturally diverse community and uphold the Learner Profile values.




• Commit to ongoing professional development and improvement of practice.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialization in English




• Advanced qualifications are preferred but not essential




• A minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Upper High School/Secondary English, ideally within an IB or NCofE curriculum school; however this is not mandatory




• A strong understanding of the IB DP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred




• A strong desire to continually improve practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for students




• The experience, personality and educational philosophy that aligns with a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy
