Chief Investment Officer

An excellent opportunity has arisen within a high-impact fund as part of growth, for a Chief Investment Officer, with the role being based in Abu Dhabi. Working alongside an exceptional leader, the CIO will be responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing the long-term investment strategy and Strategic Asset Allocation of a globally diversified, mission-aligned investment platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Chief Investment Officer, who is looking for a purpose-driven and impactful role and possesses deep institutional investment experience and a long-horizon mindset. This role is open to expats, however, candidates with experience within the GCC, UK/Europe, would be advantageous.

• Responsible for stewarding capital across market cycles, delivering sustainable real returns
• Oversee multi-asset portfolio across public markets, private equity, venture capital, real assets, and credit
• Partner closely with the Board and Investment Committee on governance and reporting
• Define and oversee the Strategic Capital Allocation, balancing growth assets, real assets, and stabilising capital
• Embed scenario analysis, stress testing, and downside awareness into investment decisions
• Build and manage long-term partnerships with high-quality global investment managers
• Lead manager selection, mandate design, performance monitoring, and relationship governance
• Represent the organisation on advisory boards and strategic partnerships, where appropriate
• Oversee diversified exposure across priavte equity, venture capital, infrastructure, property, and natural capital
• Ensure disciplined capital deployment, vintage diversification, and liquidity planning
• Various other responsibilities covering investment strategy & portfolio construction, Investment beliefs & long-term orientation, Manager selection & oversight, Private markets & real assets, Mission alignment & sustainability, Governance, risk & reporting, Leadership and Culture.

Qualifications

• Senior Investment Leader experience (CIO / Deputy CIO / Head of Investments)
• Background in endowments, foundations, pensions, or long-term institutional investors would be prioritised
• Deep experience across private markets and real assets
• Strong educational background with an advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
• CFA, CAIA, or equivalent professional qualification
• Excellent communicator in English, being able to convey complex ideas clearly to Boards and Stakeholders; Arabic would be advantageous but not mandatory
• Candidates must be able to pass a high-level security clearance in Abu Dhabi
