The role holder is responsible for leading, managing, and delivering large-scale IT projects focused on infrastructure, business applications, and IT security systems. They ensure the effective planning, execution, and integration of IT initiatives that align with the organization’s strategic objectives and operational requirements. Additionally, they will oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, collaborating closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders (including IT vendors and delivery managers) to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and meet established quality standards.
Section II: Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of managing and executing all IT projects related to IT infrastructure, IT business applications, and IT security systems. Ensure that all projects align with the company’s overall strategic goals and objectives.
- Design and develop comprehensive project plans, outlining clear objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resources required. Ensure adherence to these plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the central liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including IT vendors, suppliers, and delivery managers.
- Foster strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, managing expectations, providing regular updates, and ensuring alignment with business needs and project objectives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as IT, sales, and other functional business units, to ensure the alignment of IT projects with business requirements and strategic goals.
Project Delivery & Risk Management
- Oversee the execution of IT projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all functional and technical specifications.
- Identify potential project risks early on and implement mitigation plans to address issues before they impact project timelines and deliverables.
- Regularly monitor project progress, ensuring that milestones are met, and projects are on track. Adjust project plans as needed to keep the projects moving forward.
Budget & Resource Management
- Develop, track, and manage project budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and minimizing waste. Keep expenditure within the allocated budget and identify cost-saving opportunities where possible.
- Ensure the right resources (tools, software, etc.) are allocated to projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Continually monitor resource usage and adjust as needed to ensure projects remain within budget and resources are being utilized efficiently.
Reporting & Documentation
- Provide senior management and key stakeholders with regular, detailed updates on project status, including progress against timelines, milestones, budget, risks, and any required course corrections.
- Ensure all projects are thoroughly documented, including project plans, technical specifications, post-implementation reviews, and lessons learned.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify successes and areas for improvement. Implement lessons learned for future projects.
IT Implementation & Integration
- Supervise the successful implementation and integration of infrastructure solutions, business applications, and security systems. Work closely with internal teams to ensure the smooth deployment of systems.
- Ensure proper configuration, testing, and deployment of business applications, infrastructure, and security systems, ensuring minimal disruption to the organization.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams to validate integration and ensure all systems function correctly.
- Lead negotiations with external IT vendors and suppliers, ensuring that services are delivered according to the agreed timelines, scope, and cost.
- Monitor vendor performance closely, ensuring that contractual obligations are met, and issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Work with vendors to identify, assess, and mitigate any risks associated with vendor deliveries.
- Ensure clear and effective communication between IT teams and other departments involved in projects.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure IT initiatives align with broader business objectives.
People Management
- Provide leadership within the function, setting objectives, managing performance, and developing staff to maximize performance.
- Build and promote an organizational culture that encourages innovation and rewards performance, leading to enhanced staff motivation and retention.
Section III: Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certifications are a must-have qualification.

- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in IT project management, with a strong background in IT engineering and IT project implementation.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale IT projects related to IT infrastructure, business applications, and IT security systems.
- Experience in managing external vendors, suppliers, and delivery teams in complex IT environments.
- Familiarity with IT system design, implementation, and maintenance processes to ensure efficient project execution and integration with existing systems.
- Extensive experience with enterprise-level business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM) and their seamless integration with organizational IT infrastructure.
- Expertise in managing security frameworks, risk assessments, vulnerability management, and compliance with global standards such as ISO 27001 and GDPR.
- Expertise in managing expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment between IT initiatives and business objectives.
Skills:
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and mentor diverse teams, including IT engineers, project managers, analysts, and support staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively liaising with internal teams, senior management, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills to manage vendor contracts, secure resources, and resolve issues arising between stakeholders, teams, or vendors.
- Capable of managing conflicts effectively and maintaining smooth project progression despite challenges.
- Ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations, leveraging critical thinking and analysis to keep projects on track.
- Ability to collaborate with various departments (e.g., HR, finance, sales) to ensure project goals are aligned with overall organizational strategy and objectives.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure precise execution of all project components, from technical specifications to deliverables.
- Focused on ensuring all project outputs meet organizational standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to pivot and adjust to changing business needs, evolving technology landscapes, and shifting project priorities while maintaining focus on project objectives.
- Expertise in managing relationships with external vendors, negotiating terms, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and ensuring timely delivery of products and services.
