Amazon is seeking a Finance Manager to join the Alexa Smart Home Finance team. Alexa Smart Home provides customers with new devices, services, and features that are core to the Alexa experience, supporting customer engagement and acquisition. Alexa works with over 145,000 compatible smart home products, and customers have connected more than 100 million smart home devices to Alexa while interacting with their devices in real time to simplify their daily routines. Finance supports these initiatives through rigorous analysis and strategic guidance, building the home of the future while surrounded by supportive teammates.

The core of Smart Home Finance is to build financial models for new and ambiguous business opportunities and to clearly articulate the mechanics, risks, opportunities, and trade‑offs to business partners. The role is responsible for end‑to‑end financial support for major investments across a diverse set of categories, including new device hardware, software services, monetization initiatives, and cost controllership. The Finance Manager will support dedicated verticals within the Alexa Smart Home business, working with experienced leaders and teams across the world. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience influencing business partners and supporting decision‑making in rapidly evolving environments, incorporating data into decision‑making frameworks, and advancing new models that drive change within the business. The role requires a self‑starter who is both strategic and analytical with high expectations and room for growth.

• Build financial models for new business concepts
• Present financial summaries and business insights to senior management
• Develop scalable and efficient financial processes that support a rapidly growing business
• Establish and maintain operating and business metrics
• Lead short and long‑term financial planning

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax, finance, or related analytical field experience
• 5+ years of experience in multiple finance and accounting roles
• Bachelor’s degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or an equivalent quantitative field

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root cause, and creating/implementing escalation plans
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
• MBA or CPA
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL
• Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and interpreting data results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in the lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in the highest. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
