Overview
The Department of Biology at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Non-Coding RNA (ncRNA) Biology. We seek an outstanding scholar with expertise in the molecular mechanisms, regulatory roles, and applications of non-coding RNAs in gene expression, epigenetics, and cellular function. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s research excellence in molecular biology, biotechnology, and genomics and will engage in high-quality teaching and mentoring of students at undergraduate and graduate levels.
المسؤوليات
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Molecular Biology, Functional Genomics, and Non-Coding RNA Biology.
- Develop new courses and update existing curricula in RNA biology, epigenetics, and gene regulation.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, MSc, and Ph.D. students.
- Establish an independent, externally funded research program in ncRNA biology, with applications in health, disease, or biotechnology.
- Conduct innovative research in lncRNAs, miRNAs, siRNAs, circRNAs, or ribozymes and their roles in gene regulation, cellular differentiation, or stress responses.
- Publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences.
- Collaborate with faculty and researchers within the College of Science and UAEU on interdisciplinary research projects.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university-level committees.
- Engage in outreach activities to promote RNA research and molecular biotechnology.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaborations with national and international institutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Postdoctoral research experience with a strong publication record in ncRNA biology.
- Expertise in RNA sequencing, functional characterization of ncRNAs, RNA-protein interactions, and RNA therapeutics.
- Preferred: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Postdoctoral research experience with a strong publication record in ncRNA biology.
- Experience in CRISPR-based genome editing, transcriptomics, or bioinformatics approaches to RNA function.
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding.
- University-level teaching experience with a commitment to student engagement and mentorship.
