About the Role

We are building high-performance decentralized trading infrastructure designed to operate at exchange-grade standards while settling on-chain.

This is not a generic Web3 startup role.

We are looking for a deeply technical CTO who understands trading systems, order books, execution engines, and risk management — and can architect low-latency, high-throughput systems that operate reliably under extreme market conditions.

You will own the full technical strategy and execution, building institutional-level infrastructure from the ground up.

This is a hands-on leadership role.

What You’ll Do

Architecture & Core Systems

• Design and own the end-to-end system architecture (frontend, backend, data layer, infra, monitoring)
• Architect high-throughput, low-latency systems suitable for real-time trading environments
• Build and scale order management systems and real-time data pipelines
• Design secure on-chain/off-chain interaction layers (wallet flows, signing, relayers)
• Ensure system resilience under high volume and volatility

Trading Infrastructure

• Implement real-time order book infrastructure and streaming systems
• Design position tracking, margin, and liquidation logic
• Oversee execution performance and slippage optimization
• Build internal risk monitoring and safeguards
• Coordinate integration standards for market makers and liquidity providers

Engineering Leadership

• Build and lead a senior engineering team
• Establish production-grade standards for testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Define KPIs around latency, uptime, and system integrity
• Oversee DevOps, observability, and security practices
• Own delivery timelines and technical risk management

Must-Have Qualifications

Candidates must meet all of the following:

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3–5+ years leading engineering in high-performance systems (exchange, trading platform, DeFi protocol, HFT firm, or similar)
• Direct experience building or operating:
• Order book systems
• High-throughput distributed systems
• Strong backend expertise (Go, Rust, Node.js, or similar)
• Experience designing systems with complex state and real-time execution flows
• Solid understanding of Web3 architecture:
• Wallet integrations
• Signature-based authentication
• Smart contract interaction patterns
• On-chain/off-chain coordination
• Deep knowledge of reliability engineering, failover, and observability
• Ability to review architecture deeply and write production-grade code when necessary
• Strong ownership mindset — accountable for outcomes, not just delivery

Strongly Preferred

• Experience with derivatives, perpetuals, options, or event-based trading
• Understanding of liquidation systems and auto-deleveraging mechanics
• Familiarity with market microstructure and execution optimization
• Experience collaborating with liquidity providers or market makers
• Background in low-latency systems design

What We Are Not Looking For

• Purely managerial CTOs
• Frontend-only Web3 engineers
• Candidates without trading infrastructure exposure

This role requires deep systems thinking and production-grade engineering discipline.
