This position involves developing and writing functional requirements for optical systems, managing optical design and fabrication, leading experiments and testing, and supporting system analysis and modeling using software tools like ZEMAX, C/C++, and Python. The role also includes designing optical lab tests, overseeing project execution, cost analysis, and mentoring team members.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. Develop functional requirements for optical systems.
2. Create optical conceptual designs and support fabrication.
3. Lead and manage engineers and technicians in laboratory experiments.
4. Lead integration and testing of optical components and subsystems.
5. Support development of optical subsystems including mechanical design.
6. Utilize software tools for design and analysis.
7. Create task plans and oversee project timelines.
8. Develop models, simulations, and algorithms for optical systems.
9. Conduct research and development for industrial projects.
10. Derive specifications from functional requirements.
11. Design optical systems using software and scripts.
12. Communicate with peers and suppliers about requirements and concerns.
13. Design optical lab tests and support project delivery.
14. Support cost analysis and Bill of Materials (BOM).
15. Manage optical designs independently and collaboratively.
16. Research advanced concepts in Electro Optics.

**Experience & Education:**

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Over 2 years of experience with optical and electro-optical systems, labs, lasers, or research.
