The Foreman – Welding manages welding teams responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and components. They ensure all welding activities adhere to approved procedures, project specifications, and safety standards. This role involves planning daily workloads, allocating resources efficiently, and monitoring welder performance to maintain high quality and productivity. The foreman also conducts safety briefings and enforces compliance with health and safety regulations to create a secure work environment. In addition to overseeing welding operations, the foreman coordinates closely with engineers, quality control inspectors, and project management to resolve technical issues and ensure all welds meet inspection and certification requirements. They review welding procedures, monitor non-destructive testing (NDT), and manage equipment maintenance. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to achieving precise, reliable welding outcomes critical for project success.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Welding Foreman or in a similar supervisory role; strong knowledge of welding techniques and equipment.
  • Certifications: Welding certification (e.g., AWS, CSWIP) preferred; valid safety certifications such as VCA.
  • Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics; excellent leadership and communication skills; familiarity with safety standards and regulations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong problem-solving skills; attention to detail and commitment to quality.
