Job title: Head of Narrative & Storytelling

Reports to: Sr. Director, Marketing & Engagement

The Head of Narrative & Storytelling is the firm’s senior narrative, thought leadership, and editorial leader in the Middle East. The role owns Strategy & Middle East’s narrative end-to-end, shaping what the firm says, how it says it, and why it matters across thought leadership, social media, alumni engagement, recruitment, and internal communications. The Head of Narrative & Storytelling defines priority themes, governs the thought leadership and editorial pipeline, and ensures all written and spoken content reflects the firm’s strategic priorities, intellectual rigor, tone of voice and regional positioning. The role works closely with Partners, client teams, internal firm services and leadership to identify the ideas worth amplifying and to spin them into stories that influence decisions.

Own Strategy & Narrative in the Middle East

Define and evolve our master story: who we are, what we do, why it matters, and how we’re different in the region.

Support the translation of our market offerings into simple, compelling narratives for our clients, staff, future talent and general audience.

Ensure narrative discipline and coherence across all touchpoints — external and internal.

Shape thought leadership that influences

Own the thought leadership agenda for Strategy & Middle East, aligned with leadership priorities, practice focus, and market dynamics.

Lead the development, prioritization, and governance of the thought leadership pipeline in partnership with client teams.

Shape and refine ideas into publishable, high-impact narratives, recommending appropriate formats (reports, op-eds, articles, speeches, podcasts).

Turn complex ideas from thought leadership into clear, persuasive narratives that connect with the audience across channels (op-eds, social media messages, conference talks, podcasts, etc.).

Hold the pen on select flagship pieces and top edit all major content to ensure clarity, rigor, originality, and strategic alignment.

Maintain and evolve editorial guidelines, tone of voice, and quality standards.

Manage editorial process

Oversee editorial production across formats and channels.

Manage relationships with external editors, writers, and copy editors.

Ensure compliance with global quality, risk, and review requirements.

Measure narrative effectiveness and content impact with defined KPIs.

Spin channel-specific stories that connect

  • Social media and digital platforms
  • Podcasts and audio storytelling
  • Events, conferences, and panels
  • PR and media engagements

Work closely with Digital & Creative Studio to bring Strategy’s voice to life visually and digitally.

Play an active role in podcast conception, narrative design, guest framing, and episode.

Internal communications

Support the production of internal communications that explain firm priorities, strategic direction, and cultural narratives in a tone that connects with staff.

Surface and celebrate wins, staff and personal stories that move the needle for our staff and communities.

Ensure internal messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with the firm’s external narrative and brand.

Partner with leadership and HR to support internal announcements, change communications, and engagement initiatives.

Build capabilities

Stay abreast of the trends around storytelling and editorial capabilities.

Hold training for staff on storytelling and for third party contractors.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Qualifications

10–15+ years of experience in editorial leadership, thought leadership publishing, journalism, or professional services communications.

Proven experience shaping content strategy and managing complex editorial pipelines.

Background in consulting, professional services, or business journalism strongly preferred.

Skills

Exceptional editorial judgment and writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas without losing rigor.

Strong narrative framing and strategic thinking capability.

Ability to rapidly understand new subject matter and challenge ideas constructively.

Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.

Experience managing external editorial resources and distributed teams.

High attention to quality, consistency, and detail.

Sound editorial judgement, ability to learn subject matter rapidly to support a range of practices.

Strong communication and managerial skills, particularly with remote working and contracting.

Knowledge of regional dynamics.
