Key Purpose
The post holder will lead, manage, and be accountable for tracking progress, considering curriculum planning, supporting the Behaviour for Learning Policy and speaking with parents to promote the fulfilment of the school’s vision.

As a member of the Extended Leadership Team, the post holder will be expected:
- to articulate a vision for their Key Stage in the context of the school’s ethos and vision
- to lead, manage, co‑ordinate, maintain, develop, monitor and evaluate the progress made for children within their Key Stage
- to make a full contribution to the processes of planning, resource management, policy development and implementation across the school through the effective leadership and management of their specific Key Stage
- to make a full contribution to ensuring high expectations and standards in all aspects of school life
- to work flexibly in supporting the day‑to‑day organisation and management of the school
- to be accountable to the relevant Senior Leader and ultimately the Principal/CEO
- to contribute to the school’s Performance Development Programme where appropriate

- Maintain good behaviour in classrooms and around the school.
- Provide Key Stage structures to promote positive behaviour and manage disciplinary matters in liaison with the Student Welfare and House Team.
- Set appropriate progress targets for the Key Stage with the Head of School.
- Analyse and forecast trends (attendance, attainment, assessment, marking) to identify improvement opportunities with the Head of School.
- Liaise with the ELT and SLT for the referral and review of individual cases.
- Foster a positive ethos reflecting high achievement, excellent behaviour, an effective learning climate, good relationships, and equality of opportunity for all.
- Include student views in the evaluation of assessments and attainment.
- Observe and participate in Key Stage activities.
- Promote student engagement in enrichment activities with the Student Welfare and House Team.
- Develop proactive relationships with external agencies.
Skills
An excellent team player within the department and across phases. Should have experience heading part of the Primary school/leader or supervisor for a minimum of 3 years. Have a clear understanding of the DSIB framework and inspection requirements. Capacity to innovate with new educational trends for young learners. Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent command of English (spoken and written). Well‑versed to lead on Professional Development for staff. Able to draft a strategic plan to accelerate the department/phase to excellence.
