Main Purpose of Job

To monitor and manage building and equipment efficiencies improvements and upgrades to ensure optimal functioning of all infrastructure systems in hospital services and provide technical recommendations on the improvement of these systems.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Manage the efficiencies of the facility systems that includes building and equipment maintenance
• Manage and support technical projects for allocated business units/expansions
• Manage and mitigate technical operational risks
• Oversee and manage on-site contractors in Hospital
• Lead and manage suppliers / contractors
• Manage and monitor implementation project budgets and related expenses
• Contribute on the Environmental Health and Safety Committee

Required Education

A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification as minimum requirement

Required Experience

• At least 5-8 years relevant experience of which at least 3 years were in a maintenance environment
• Experience HVAC and electrical and Mechanical systems in a hospital or similar environment
• Experience in planned maintenance budgets and financial control

Required Job Skills and Knowledge

• Technical Operations
• Lead and manage the people in the Technical team
• Applies sound budgeting and financial planning/management principles
• Extensive knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety standards and protocols
• Ensure quality management and continuous improvement within Technical Operations
• Preventative maintenance
• Fault finding and troubleshooting
• Business process optimisation methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)
• Use of mechanical tools and machinery
• Exposure to information security tools
• Basic understanding of information security frameworks and standards e.g. ISO27001/2
