Section Head, Trade Finance (UAE Nationals)

TAAHEED are currently engaged with the region’s leading Banking group to assist them in attracting the talent of the future. Our client is one of the most recognisable names in the Financial Services industry and is in an enviable position to be able to recruit high-calibre professionals across the business.

Sitting within the Operations department, we are seeking a Section Head to provide supervision of Trade Finance transactions and ensure that the quality of service rendered to customers is to the highest standard.

Accountabilities

• To work within the policy and procedural framework established, ensuring full up to date knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures at all times.
• Analyze the risk factors and arrange for the appropriate type of amendment whenever it is required.
• Review issuance and amendments of all Trade Finance products.
• Analyze the terms and conditions of the trade instruments in order to protect the interests of the bank.
• Review all relative financial and non-financial transactions and ensure its accuracy.
• Review of daily posting journal (interim beam report) against vouchers.
• Will allocate work to staff and monitor performance that must meet exacting standards both in terms of speed & accuracy.
• Management of the staff and participating in the operational process.

• Bachelor in Commerce or equivalent certificate.
• At least 5 years of Trade finance related banking experience in one of the major banks.
• Thorough knowledge of International Trade Practices, ICC Uniform Customs and Practices for documentary credits.
• Good communication skills in English and Arabic to communicate effectively and both verbally and in writing.
• Competent in the use of PC systems and quick understanding of functionality and underlying processes; strong communication skills to resolve any issues with other parts of the business.
• Demonstrate ability to function independently with accuracy, consistency and decision-making ability to mitigate risk.
