Role Summary

We’re building a cutting-edge, cloud-native mobile banking platform and are seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of foundational cloud infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the platform is scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-efficient on AWS or Azure. Following the Well-Architected Framework principles and best practices, you will own cloud architecture patterns , define Kubernetes-based deployment strategies , and guide platform-level decisions related to observability, security, and scalability.

Core Responsibilities

• Own and govern the cloud-native platform architecture for mobile banking applications on AWS or Azure.
• Set standards for cloud cost optimization, tenancy isolation, performance and secrets management.
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade Kubernetes clusters, including networking, storage, security, and scaling mechanisms for microservices
• Drive the adoption and maturity of IaC practices using Terraform or equivalent, ensuring all infrastructure is version-controlled and automated
• Architect and implement solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance across the cloud infrastructure
• Establish platform-wide observability patterns, tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Datadog, Dynatrace), and practices to ensure real-time visibility into platform health, performance, and user experience.
• Collaborate with security teams to embed security best practices into infrastructure design and deployment, ensuring regulatory compliance

Required Experience

• 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with significant hands-on experience designing and deploying scalable solutions on AWS or Azure.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) ecosystem, including cluster provisioning, service mesh (e.g., Istio), and container security.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code, networking, cloud security, and monitoring tools.
• Proven experience with observability tools and practices (logging, metrics, tracing) in a distributed systems environment.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security groups, VPCs, and identity and access management (IAM).
• Platform-building mindset, with a focus on enabling developer productivity through well-defined infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Cloud certification (AWS Solutions Architect Pro / Azure Expert) strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting banking-grade compliance (PCI-DSS, etc. is a plus).
