The primary purpose of the role is to respond to customer enquiries, in a timely manner, by providing offers which are both technically and commercially accurate. Provide first class technical, costing and documentation support to the Sales team during the offer stage. Moreover, provide a comprehensive handover of new orders to the projects team to enable successful and timely execution.

• Timely submission of offers, including review of enquiries, preparation of tender, tender bond requests, coordination within departments, and requesting quotations & technical support from suppliers/sub-contractors; ensure on-time submission of offers and tenders in compliance with internal processes.
• Attend pre- and post-offer technical and commercial queries for customers in a timely manner.
• Review customer specifications, update region specifications, and provide technical support to Sales for prequalification activities.
• Maintain updated knowledge on past, current and upcoming specifications for utilities within the region and keep track of active BOMs for each customer.
• Prepare descriptive customer specification summaries for new orders and coordinate with projects department for updates.
• Careful review of new inquiries or requests for tender by checking drawings, specifications, product requirements, commercial terms and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate input from engineering, production, finance & logistics to prepare and submit timely, clear and accurate technical and commercial offers.
• Organize requests for quotations from sub-contractors and analyze technical and commercial responses.
• Support sales team with pre- and post-offer technical and commercial queries from customers and respond promptly.
• Liaise with Sales & Finance for Tender Bonds where applicable.
• Take full responsibility for handling assigned customer inquiries and prepare tender approval forms after pricing review and regional manager approvals.
• Prepare accurate tender submission documentation fully complying with the customer tender process and submit tenders in utility portals where applicable within deadlines.
• Provide office-based support to Area and Regional Sales Managers when visiting customers.
• Attend exhibitions and sales promotions in the region as required.
• Provide information to other departments for budget, forecast and management reports.
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned in relation to the job role.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline). Minimum five years’ proven experience in a similar role in the electrical switchgear industry.

• Experience in review and understanding of electrical network design including general arrangement drawings, single line diagrams and schematics.
• Understanding of distribution network technical specifications including operation & protection philosophy.
• Knowledge of standard commercial terms and conditions including Incoterms, documentary credits, bonds and guarantees.
• Experience or familiarity with major principles of project management and delivery.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work within tight timelines.
• Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills in English. Knowledge of Arabic and/or French is an added advantage.
