Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 8 year of experience with distributed systems and cloud technologies.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 10 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Proven track record of leading teams to deliver high-quality software products.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
Hyperdisk and Persistent Disk are Google’s virtual block storage offerings — a foundational building block for Cloud workloads, from high-end databases to large ML workloads. The product space is rapidly evolving with changing workload requirements that drive fundamentally new technical and product solutions to meet scale, cost and performance requirements.
The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.

- Establish technology and product vision in collaboration with peers (Development (Dev), Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Product Management (PM)) and partner teams.
- Develop the team for the task through recruiting, growing leaders and cultivating great engineering culture.
- Drive regular project planning and resource allocation activities allowing the team to meet both long and short term goals.
- Drive execution within and across teams with strong focus on quality and reliability.
- Perform retrospective analyses and establish processes for improving team’s execution and performance.
