{"id":47929,"date":"2026-04-13T10:46:32","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T06:46:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/herecareers.com\/job\/technical-design-director-site-based-landmark-project-15-years-experience\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T10:46:33","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T06:46:33","slug":"technical-design-director-site-based-landmark-project-15-years-experience","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/herecareers.com\/ar\/job\/technical-design-director-site-based-landmark-project-15-years-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Technical Design Director (Site-Based, Landmark Project), 15+ Years\u2019 Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>411_2952455<\/p>\n<h3>Technical Design Director (Site-Based, Landmark Project), 15+ Years\u2019 Experience <\/h3>\n<p>RMJM is seeking to appoint a Technical Design Director \u2013 Technical Advisory (Site-Based, Landmark Project), to support the continued growth of our Abu Dhabi Studio. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to: <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>On-Site Technical Leadership <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as the lead technical liaison between the design team, contractors, and client representatives, ensuring adherence to approved drawings and specifications. <\/li>\n<li>Resolve construction-related design conflicts in real time, providing practical solutions without compromising design integrity. <\/li>\n<li>Oversee shop drawings, material submittals, and RFIs, ensuring compliance with design intent and project requirements. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Quality Control &#038; Compliance <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, materials, and systems meet technical and quality standards. <\/li>\n<li>Ensure all construction activities comply with local regulations, international codes, and sustainability targets (e.g., LEED, BREEAM). <\/li>\n<li>Lead defects prevention and resolution, coordinating with contractors to implement corrective actions. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Constructability &#038; Value Engineering <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review and advise on construction methodologies, sequencing, and logistics to optimize efficiency and safety. <\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with contractors to identify value engineering opportunities while maintaining design excellence. <\/li>\n<li>Assess temporary works, structural interfaces, and MEP coordination to mitigate risks. <\/li>\n<li>Identify and escalate critical technical risks (e.g., structural, fa\u00e7ade, waterproofing) that could impact schedule or budget. <\/li>\n<li>Prepare daily\/weekly technical reports for project leadership, documenting progress, issues, and resolutions. <\/li>\n<li>Support the testing &#038; commissioning process, ensuring systems perform as designed. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Skills: <\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chartered Engineer\/Architect (PE, RIBA, AIA, or equivalent) preferred. <\/li>\n<li>15+ years in technical design and construction supervision, with experience on large-scale, landmark projects (high-rise, mixed-use, or cultural developments preferred). <\/li>\n<li>Strong background in on-site problem-solving, with expertise in fa\u00e7ade systems, structural interfaces, MEP coordination, and waterproofing (if relevant to site conditions). <\/li>\n<li>In-depth knowledge of construction techniques, BIM coordination, and modern delivery methods (design-build, fast-track, etc.). <\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with local building codes, permits, and inspection processes. <\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in BIM\/Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and construction management software. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions: <\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On-site based (Abu Dhabi), Full-time, Monday to Saturday <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We thank all applicants for their interest.
