The role ensures the quality at every stage of the project (design, construction, testing and commissioning).  <\/p>\n<p>The Senior Mechanical Engineer leads the design technical studies, in coordination with other trades working on the projects he\/she is involved. He\/she coordinates with the clients and Stakeholders, the Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), and other Consulting Engineers at any phase of the project as well as the Contractors during the construction stage.  <\/p>\n<p>On site, the Senior Mechanical Engineer leads the submissions review, supervises the procurement, installation, testing and commissioning within is discipline perimeter.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>2    <\/strong><strong>Line and Staff Relations  <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>The  Senior Mechanical  Engineer will report to the Head of Practice and\/or Director, Production and Operations for line management support and projects instructions.  <\/p>\n<p>In supervision stage, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will take directions from the appointed Resident Engineer, and will give direction to assigned other Engineers\/inspectors\/surveyors when assigned to projects.  <\/p>\n<p>As part of his\/her mission, the Senior Mechanical Engineer may be in functional contact with:  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   The Project Director and\/or Project Manager and the Design Manager  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   The Client or the delegated contracting authority,  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   The Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   The various Practices and Departments,  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Other Consultants and\/or Sub-Consultants  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   The Tendering Department,  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   The Business Development Department,  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Approving Authorities and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Other Stakeholders  <\/p>\n<p><strong>3 Compliance.  <\/li>\n<li>As specialist advisor, attends diagnostics, expertise recommendations and solutions on airport installations and other existing buildings types.  <\/li>\n<li>Provides input to the Tendering Department during the pre-bid and bidding processes to help secure new projects proposals vs technical scope of work, planning and needed resources deployment  <\/li>\n<li>New technologies\/innovations sharing  <\/li>\n<li>Lessons learnt from previous projects sharing  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION  <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Coordinates with other technical Consultant\u2019s Engineers,  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Coordinates technical issues with the Contractors,  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Coordinates the design and site works with all other trades working on the project  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Works on the required site modifications, prepares and submits Variation Orders to the Client\u2019s approval, issues Engineer\u2019s Instructions and answers the contractors\u2019 technical requests.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Ensure that contractors have obtained NOC and necessary work permits from AHJs and other related airport authorities and stakeholders  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Is in charge of all types of submissions review:  <\/p>\n<p>o   Reviews all documents related to construction work, such as but not limited to: shop drawings, method of statements, materials submissions, mock-ups, calculation notes, factories visits, maintenance manuals, as-built documentation etc\u2026 vs  contractual requirements, design and specifications  <\/p>\n<p>o   Prepares technical comments on non-conformity reports, instruction request and material approvals that will be transmitted to the Construction Manager via the Resident Engineer for validation,  <\/p>\n<p>o   Alerts in case of claims and advises the Contract Advisor for answering claims,  <\/p>\n<p>o   Checks the production and construction quality on site,  <\/p>\n<p>o   Checks manufacturing of devices (including validation of prototype).  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Prepares materials and components proposals with necessary technical data and recommendations, and submits for approval to Client and related Stakeholders.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Provides support for the preparation and submission of the progress reports (weekly, monthly, \u2026)  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Supervises all construction work stages:  <\/p>\n<p>o   Installation, commissioning, testing, punch listing and training, etc\u2026  <\/p>\n<p>o   Controls the on-site progress of works through regular site inspections and when deemed necessary  <\/p>\n<p>o   Supervise the quality of work at every stage of the construction  <\/p>\n<p>o   Attend testing and commissioning  <\/p>\n<p>o   Attends site meetings with the client, contractors, subcontractors and\/or suppliers,  <\/p>\n<p>o   Attends internal site meetings  <\/p>\n<p>o   Supervises inspectors daily tasks\/works  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Ensure the handover of the project is done in compliance with the requirements of the project contract performance requirement.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>CONCEPTION (where applicable)  <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Using AutoCAD, BIM \u2013 Revit and other software tools in the delivery of a project from concept stage to design project completion.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Understands client requirements and identifies inputs and outputs,  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Organizes and plan the studies and drawings production in respect of the delays and project budget at any stage of the studies, guides and controls draftsmen production and design production from sub-consultants vs their contract obligations  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Prepares sketches and feasibility studies to define the guidelines of the project, including ROM cost estimate, CAPEX and OPEX, to enable the client to make the necessary choices  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Studies all the spatial, temporal and technical constraints dictated to the project, in coordination with other disciplines  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Prepares and verifies all documents prior submission, in terms of technical content and QA\/QC, as per contract requirement, all design stages  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Prepare RFP for sub-consultancy services and manage sub-consultant deliverables as per contract obligations (scheduledeliverables content, etc\u2026)  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Participates in pre-qualification and qualification process, analyses pre-qualification and tenders, and provides technical analysis report recommendation  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Is in charge of:  <\/p>\n<p>o   Contracts review in terms of supplying the right services, all design stages, on time and within project budget,  <\/p>\n<p>o   Cohesion between the graphic documents and the specifications,  <\/p>\n<p>o   Compliance with the International and Regional Codes and Standards (security, safety, airport regulations, construction\u2026)  <\/p>\n<p>o   Ensuring that proper controls, i.e. QA\/QC and content compliance vs contract obligations, are properly conducted prior submission  <\/p>\n<p>o   May be called for specialist advice, diagnostics, expertise recommendations and solutions on airport installations and other existing buildings types  <\/p>\n<p>o   Maintain and develop CAD and BIM libraries  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Any other task requested by his\/her line manager within his\/her field of expertise  <\/p>\n<p><strong>4    <\/strong><strong>Profile Specifications \u2013 Minimum Requirements  <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   10-15 years of total experience with a minimum of 3 years under BIM environment projects and at least 5 at Senior level.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Bachelor Degree of Mechanical Engineering.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   UAE society of engineers membership <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Abu Dhabi Engineering License  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   NFPA Certification would be valued  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   LEED or other Sustainability Standard Certification would be valued  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Strong proficiency in BIM (Revit) and supporting Revit tools skill \u2013 Dynamo BIM or equivalent, andother software is mandatory ( AutoCAD, MathCAD, etc\u2026)  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Well versed in MS office Application  (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Experience leading teams and guiding the design process from the collection of data and client\u2019s input discussions till the Construction Phase  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Effective communication skills in English both written and spoken  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Good communication and Customer facing skills  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Ability to plan, organize and has flexibility towards work.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00b7   Ability to manage relationships with clients, sub-consultants, contractors and
