AECOM are currently seeking a Design Director, to lead our entertainment practice. The Entertainment Lead (Design) provides strategic leadership for AECOM\u2019s Entertainment sector across the Middle East within the Buildings & Places business line. Operating at Director level, this role defines and drives a design\u2011led sector strategy, leads high\u2011value client engagement, and ensures design excellence across AECOM\u2019s Entertainment portfolio. <\/p>\n

As the senior sector authority, the Entertainment Lead acts as a visible ambassador for AECOM\u2019s design capability, partnering with regional leadership, Architecture + Interiors teams, Client Account Managers, and multidisciplinary groups to translate strategy into disciplined pursuits, high\u2011quality delivery, and a strong market presence. <\/p>\n

Strategic Sector Leadership <\/h3>\n

  • Set and execute the Entertainment sector strategy aligned with Middle East business objectives. <\/li>\n
  • Develop and maintain a design\u2011led growth plan, including market positioning, target clients, and priority pursuits. <\/li>\n
  • Advise leadership on market trends, client expectations, and emerging opportunities. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Work Winning & Client Engagement <\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Lead major Entertainment pursuits as senior design authority, shaping win strategies and design narratives. <\/li>\n
    • Act as Project Director or Sector Lead on strategic bids requiring senior design leadership. <\/li>\n
    • Build and maintain senior\u2011level client relationships across developers, owners, and operators. <\/li>\n
    • Represent AECOM at industry forums and conferences as a recognized sector leader. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Design Excellence & Governance <\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Champion design excellence for Entertainment projects, setting benchmarks and review gateways. <\/li>\n
      • Provide senior oversight on design quality, coordination, and risk management. <\/li>\n
      • Ensure compliance with AECOM design standards and governance frameworks. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Delivery Oversight <\/h3>\n

        • Oversee delivery of Entertainment projects, ensuring alignment with contractual and client expectations. <\/li>\n
        • Support project start\u2011up and reviews for major commissions, managing risks and promoting best practices. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Leadership & Capability Development <\/h3>\n
            \n
          • Provide visible, inclusive leadership consistent with AECOM values. <\/li>\n
          • Mentor senior staff and high\u2011potential talent, supporting succession planning. <\/li>\n
          • Drive development of Entertainment\u2011specific design capability and recruit specialist talent. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Thought Leadership & Brand <\/h3>\n
              \n
            • Act as a regional figurehead for AECOM\u2019s Entertainment design capability. <\/li>\n
            • Lead sector\u2011specific thought leadership and marketing initiatives in collaboration with marketing teams. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Qualifications <\/h3>\n
                \n
              • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Architecture or related discipline; professional registration preferred. <\/li>\n
              • 15+ years\u2019 experience with senior leadership responsibility in Entertainment, leisure, or destination projects. <\/li>\n
              • Proven track record in leading major pursuits and complex client engagements. <\/li>\n
              • Recognized sector expertise with established senior\u2011level client network in GCC. <\/li>\n
              • Ability to operate effectively at Director level within a matrix organization. <\/li>\n
              • Excellent communication and influencing skills at executive level. <\/li>\n
              • Experience in multidisciplinary consultancy environment. <\/li>\n
              • Strong portfolio of design\u2011led Entertainment projects. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
