Minimum Qualifications &#038; Licensing Requirements<br \/><\/strong><strong>Tier-1 Accepted Qualifications<br \/><\/strong>One of the following (or equivalent):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>UK CCT \/ CESR (Ophthalmology \u2013 Pediatric &#038; Strabismus focus) <\/li>\n<li>American Board Certification (Ophthalmology + Pediatric Ophthalmology\/Strabismus fellowship) <\/li>\n<li>Canadian RCPSC Fellowship <\/li>\n<li>Irish CSCST <\/li>\n<li>Australian FRANZCO (with pediatric ophthalmology training) <\/li>\n<li>German Facharzt (Augenheilkunde \u2013 Pediatric\/Strabismus)\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience Requirements<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3\u20135 years post-consultant experience in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. <\/li>\n<li>High surgical case volume in horizontal and vertical muscle surgery. <\/li>\n<li>Experience in private practice settings is an advantage.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Licensing<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligible for DHA, DOH, or MOHAP Consultant License (depending on emirate). <\/li>\n<li>Completion of DataFlow PSV and applicable authority exam\/exemption.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Key Responsibilities<br \/><\/strong><strong>Clinical &#038; Surgical Care <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diagnose and manage the full spectrum of pediatric ophthalmic conditions, including: <\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Esotropia, exotropia, vertical deviations <\/li>\n<li>Amblyopia management <\/li>\n<li>Congenital and developmental eye disorders <\/li>\n<li>Pediatric cataract evaluation (if trained) <\/li>\n<li>Ocular motility disorders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Perform high-precision strabismus surgeries (horizontal\/vertical muscle, reoperations, adjustable sutures if trained). <\/li>\n<li>Conduct pediatric clinics, orthoptic assessments, and comprehensive pre\/post-operative care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with orthoptists, optometrists, anesthesiologists, and pediatric teams. <\/li>\n<li>Participate in case discussions and care-pathway improvements.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Private Sector Standards<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain excellent patient communication and family counseling. <\/li>\n<li>Deliver efficient, high-patient-volume outpatient services. <\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate EMR documentation (e.g., Medcare, EPIC, Cerner depending on facility). <\/li>\n<li>Uphold international safety, infection control, and clinical governance standards.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4.
