This role sits at the heart of that mission: owning the Algorithmic Execution &#038; Strategy Engine, Kraken\u2019s platform for complex order types, smart execution algorithms, and programmable strategy construction. <\/p>\n<p>We are looking for a product manager who has lived and breathed electronic trading in a Tier 1 bank or algorithmic trading firm \u2014 someone who has shipped execution algos, spoken FIX with quant developers, and understands why basis points matter. Your mission is to port the best of TradFi execution into crypto and build the platform that both humans and AI agents will rely on to execute with precision. <\/p>\n<h3>The opportunity <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Own and drive the roadmap for Kraken\u2019s Algorithmic Execution &#038; Strategy Engine, defining the multi\u2011year vision and aligning it with Kraken\u2019s institutional and pro\u2011trading growth strategy. <\/li>\n<li>Design and deliver new execution algorithms \u2014 TWAP, VWAP, Implementation Shortfall, Participation, scaled orders, and conditional order flows \u2014 drawing on deep knowledge of TradFi execution best practice. <\/li>\n<li>Build out the strategy construction interface \u2014 a programmable layer that allows professional traders and institutions to compose, test, and deploy execution strategies without writing code. <\/li>\n<li>Own the API and FIX protocol specification for programmatic access to the algo engine, working closely with engineering and client solutions to ensure low\u2011latency, high\u2011reliability access for institutional clients. <\/li>\n<li>Define transaction cost analysis (TCA) and execution quality frameworks; work with the data science team to instrument, measure, and continuously improve execution performance. <\/li>\n<li>Establish the agentic integration framework: design the interfaces and capability set that allow AI trading agents to interact safely and effectively with Kraken\u2019s execution infrastructure. <\/li>\n<li>Partner with Quant Research and Engineering to evaluate and integrate ML\/AI\u2011driven enhancements to the execution stack, including adaptive routing and predictive scheduling. <\/li>\n<li>Engage directly with institutional clients, prime brokerage relationships, and professional traders to surface execution needs and translate them into product requirements. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Skills You Should HODL <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in an electronic trading or algorithmic trading environment (investment bank e\u2011trading desk, HFT firm, quant hedge fund, or equivalent). <\/li>\n<li>Deep domain knowledge of execution algorithms: TWAP, VWAP, Implementation Shortfall, Percentage of Volume (POV), and smart order routing logic. <\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of market microstructure: order book dynamics, venue selection, lit vs. dark execution, latency arbitrage, and market impact modelling. <\/li>\n<li>Quantitative confidence: fluent in TCA methodology, slippage analysis, fill rate analysis, and execution quality benchmarking. <\/li>\n<li>Proven track record of shipping high\u2011quality execution or trading infrastructure products \u2014 not just roadmaps, but products that are live, used, and measured. <\/li>\n<li>Experience working with institutional or professional trader segments; able to hold credible, technically deep conversations with quant PMs, execution traders, and CTOs. <\/li>\n<li>Strong grasp of regulatory requirements governing electronic and algorithmic trading (MiFID\u202fII \/ RTS\u202f6, CFTC, or equivalent). <\/li>\n<li>Exceptional communication skills: able to distil complex execution mechanics for non\u2011technical stakeholders and translate vague institutional client needs into precise engineering requirements. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Nice to haves <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Crypto\u2011native experience: trading on crypto exchanges, familiarity with crypto market microstructure, or prior crypto product role. <\/li>\n<li>Experience building or integrating with AI\/ML\u2011driven execution systems, adaptive algorithms, or agentic trading platforms. <\/li>\n<li>Exposure to DeFi execution mechanics: DEX aggregators, AMMs, cross\u2011chain routing, and on\u2011chain order flow. <\/li>\n<li>Experience with no\u2011code \/ low\u2011code strategy builders or visual workflow tools for quantitative trading. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. <\/p>\n<p>Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution. <\/p>\n<p>We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San\u202fFrancisco Fair Chance Ordinance. <\/p>\n<p>Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives.
