They are now expanding into the UAE market with a clear 5-year strategy and long-term ambition, including a potential IPO. <\/p>\n<p>As part of the licensing process, the company is building its core leadership team and is looking for a Head of Risk Management &#8211; a critical leadership role responsible for building the risk function from the ground up and engaging directly with the regulator. <\/p>\n<h3>Why This Role Is Unique <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Build the risk management function from scratch in a regulated crypto exchange <\/li>\n<li>Work directly with the UAE regulator (CMA) as part of the licensing process <\/li>\n<li>Join at an early stage with strong backing and a proven business model <\/li>\n<li>High level of ownership and influence on company-wide decision-making <\/li>\n<li>Relocation support, visa sponsorship, and housing assistance <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What You Will Be Doing <\/h3>\n<h3>Risk Strategy &#038; Governance <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Build and lead the enterprise risk management function from the ground up <\/li>\n<li>Develop Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite Statement, and internal policies <\/li>\n<li>Establish governance, reporting lines, and escalation processes  <\/li>\n<li>Provide independent oversight of risk across the organisation <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Risk Identification &#038; Monitoring <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and manage key risks: operational, market, liquidity, regulatory, cyber, financial crime <\/li>\n<li>Maintain and continuously update the risk register <\/li>\n<li>Define and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) <\/li>\n<li>Conduct risk assessments for new products and strategic initiatives <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Crypto &#038; Market Risk <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Assess risks related to digital assets, including volatility, liquidity, custody, and trading <\/li>\n<li>Monitor exposure to counterparties, exchanges, and liquidity providers <\/li>\n<li>Evaluate token listing risks and onboarding of new assets <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Operational Risk &#038; Controls <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Strengthen internal control environment across business processes <\/li>\n<li>Oversee incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation <\/li>\n<li>Support business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks <\/li>\n<li>Promote risk awareness across teams <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Regulatory Interaction <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure alignment with CMA requirements and licensing conditions <\/li>\n<li>Prepare risk reports for senior management, Board, and regulator <\/li>\n<li>Support regulatory reviews, audits, and inspections <\/li>\n<li>Work closely with Compliance, Finance, IT, and Security teams <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Stress Testing &#038; Scenario Analysis <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop stress testing frameworks tailored to crypto market conditions <\/li>\n<li>Assess liquidity and capital resilience under adverse scenarios <\/li>\n<li>Provide actionable recommendations to leadership <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What We Are Looking For <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>10+ years of experience in risk management (banking, fintech, payments, brokerage, or crypto) <\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years in a licensed financial institution, fintech, or crypto exchange <\/li>\n<li>Strong experience in a regulated financial environment <\/li>\n<li>Proven track record of building or managing enterprise risk frameworks <\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of market, operational, and digital asset risks <\/li>\n<li>Experience working with regulators (ideally CMA \/ UAE or equivalent) <\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical thinking and ability to communicate complex risks clearly <\/li>\n<li>Fluent English <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Nice to have <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in crypto exchanges or digital assets <\/li>\n<li>Direct involvement in licensing or regulatory approval processes <\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with custody solutions and trading infrastructure <\/li>\n<li>Arabic language skills <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Location &#038; Conditions <\/h3>\n<p>  Abu Dhabi, UAE &#8211; on-site role <\/p>\n<p>  Relocation support: visa sponsorship, residence assistance, housing support <\/p>\n<p>  Competitive compensation, discussed individually <\/p>\n<h3>Why Join Us <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Rare opportunity to shape a risk function at a regulated crypto exchange from day one <\/li>\n<li>Direct exposure to the regulator and executive leadership from the start <\/li>\n<li>Join a business with a proven foundation, clear 5-year growth plan, and IPO ambition <\/li>\n<li>Be part of a lean, experienced team where your decisions genuinely matter <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note: this role is subject to regulatory approval.
