Our client is an investment management firm with a strong and expanding presence in alternative investments including private markets, venture capital, and credit.

Job Description

  • Conduct detailed commercial and financial analysis on potential investments.
  • Evaluate business models, operating metrics, growth assumptions, and scalability.
  • Assess TAM, competitive positioning, unit economics, and exit pathways.
  • Analyse cap tables, investment structures, and scenario outcomes.
  • Develop investment views grounded in quantitative rigour and qualitative judgement.
  • Perform deep dives into emerging sectors and technologies.
  • Track VC activity, comparable deals, and valuation trends across global markets.
  • Produce internal research notes, sector analyses, and investment theses.
  • Identify new themes and white-space opportunities for the fund.
  • Support end-to-end diligence including commercial, financial, and strategic assessments.
  • Engage founders, advisors, and domain experts to validate company positioning.
  • Prepare IC memos, financial models, and risk assessments.
  • Participate in negotiations and review transaction documents where required.
  • Partner with founders on strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and market expansion.
  • Support portfolio fundraising activities (materials preparation, investor introductions, etc.).
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner while maintaining analytical discipline.
  • Track portfolio performance, KPIs, and financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparing investor updates, valuation reviews, and audit materials.
  • Maintain internal portfolio tracking tools and ensure data accuracy.
  • Build and manage relationships across accelerators, founders, angels, and venture funds.
  • Attend ecosystem events, demo days, and conferences to expand pipeline visibility.
  • Identify and screen high-potential opportunities across sectors and geographies.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5-10 years’ experience in VC, growth equity or PE
  • Strong exposure to technology-driven sectors and the startup ecosystem.
  • Experience conducting financial analysis, market research, and due diligence.
  • Academic background in finance, engineering, economics, or business (MBA/CFA beneficial but not required).
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to synthesise large amounts of data.
  • Commercially minded with balanced optimism and scepticism.
  • High intellectual curiosity and interest in emerging technologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate investment theses clearly.
  • Network-oriented; enjoys engaging with ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Ownership mindset-proactive, self-driven, and comfortable in lean teams.
  • Passion for startups, founders, and innovation.
