Job Title: Biomedical/Clinical Engineering Analyst

Location: Healthcare Facility / Hospital / Medical Institution

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze performance data of biomedical equipment to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement

    • Develop and generate reports on equipment utilization, maintenance schedules, and compliance status for management and clinical teams

    • Provide insights based on data analysis to support decision-making related to equipment procurement, replacement, or maintenance strategies

    • Monitor and track performance metrics of medical devices to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness

  • Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Support the team in ensuring that all biomedical equipment complies with industry regulations and standards, including FDA, ISO 13485, and local healthcare regulations

    • Maintain up-to-date records of equipment certifications, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities

    • Assist with preparing for regulatory audits and inspections, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and readily available

    • Ensure that all equipment documentation is in compliance with internal protocols and standards for safety and quality

  • Equipment Performance Optimization: Collaborate with clinical and engineering teams to monitor and assess the performance of biomedical equipment across the healthcare facility

    • Identify underperforming equipment and recommend appropriate actions, including repairs, upgrades, or replacement

    • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues by analyzing data from equipment performance and communicating with technicians and clinical staff

    • Support the development and implementation of optimization strategies to extend the life and reliability of biomedical systems

  • Project Support & Coordination: Assist in the evaluation and selection of new biomedical equipment by providing data and analysis on equipment performance and needs

    • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain relevant technical data, product specifications, and maintenance information

    • Participate in the planning and execution of new equipment installations, ensuring proper configuration and setup to meet clinical needs

    • Work with the team to create and implement preventive maintenance programs to improve the overall performance and reliability of medical devices

  • Collaboration with Clinical Staff: Collaborate with clinical staff to understand their specific equipment needs and assist in troubleshooting or recommending solutions to enhance clinical workflows

    • Provide training and support to clinical staff on proper use and maintenance of biomedical equipment

    • Act as a liaison between clinical departments and engineering teams to ensure seamless communication regarding equipment issues or upgrades

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in biomedical engineering, clinical engineering analysis, or related roles in a healthcare setting

  • Strong understanding of biomedical equipment, including patient monitors, imaging devices, diagnostic tools, and therapeutic devices

  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601) and safety standards for medical devices

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights

  • Experience with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI)

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with clinical and engineering teams and prepare reports for management

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with engineering and clinical teams

  • Familiarity with hospital management systems and medical equipment tracking software is a plus

  • Certification in Biomedical Equipment Technology (CBET) or Clinical Engineering (CCE) is a plus
