Job Description

Role: Business Development Manager

Role Purpose: Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, promoting Islamic banking products, and driving revenue growth. The goal is to enhance product penetration and support ADIB’s strategic cross-sell initiatives.

Key Accountabilities of the role:

  • Work closely with Wholesale Banking Group and other stakeholders on new and existing corporate clients in portfolio under management and scope business potential.
  • Proactively arrange and conduct business meetings with prospective clients to promote ADIB’s Retail products and services.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new business opportunities, customer needs, and market trends.
  • Track and manage the entire contract and agreement process, ensuring timely conversion and fulfillment of client expectations.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales, revenue, and other key performance indicators to monitor progress and inform strategic decisions.
  • Continuously promote ADIB’s products and services, anticipating and addressing potential client objections and concerns.

Results Required:

  • Provide market intelligence on key competitors to ensure competitive propositions and packages.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create tailored propositions that meet client needs while adhering to Islamic banking principles.
  • Increase key product penetration within the assigned portfolio and channel leads to tagged teams through the Lead Management team.
  • Provide employees of corporates in the portfolio with superior service and swift lead conversion (within TAT), in coordination with Customer Excellence team.
  • Address and resolve client complaints promptly to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Propose campaigns, identify opportunities to increase product penetration, and suggest policy enhancements relevant to the portfolio/employer.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients for long-term partnerships aligned with the bank’s objectives and values.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role, preferably in banking.
  • Proven experience in customer support, with a focus on client satisfaction and relationship management.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics, especially within Islamic banking.
  • Strong rapport-building skills with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Leadership abilities with a track record of driving business growth.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field; a master’s degree or certifications in Islamic finance are a plus.
