Job Title: Procurement Manager (Materials & Equipment)

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction materials (e.g., steel, concrete, timber) and equipment (e.g., cranes, excavators, power tools) to meet project timelines, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and ensure reliable supply.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, site engineers, and finance teams to forecast procurement needs, align orders with project progress, and resolve supply-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct market research to monitor price fluctuations, new product developments, and industry trends, providing insights to update procurement plans and reduce costs.
  • Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, including purchase order issuance, goods receipt inspection, inventory management, and supplier performance evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards in all procurement activities, minimizing risks such as supply delays or substandard products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of procurement experience in UAE construction industry, with a proven track record in managing materials and equipment procurement for large-scale projects.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office; familiarity with construction material specifications and equipment technical parameters is essential.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery efficiency.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple procurement tasks simultaneously and adapt to dynamic project priorities.
  • Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations, trade policies, and sustainability practices in construction is preferred.
