We are seeking an experienced Construction Technical Director to lead the technical and engineering oversight of a major high-rise project. You will supervise a multidisciplinary design and planning team, ensuring constructability, coordination, and compliance throughout the design and construction phases. This is a senior leadership role requiring deep technical expertise, strong management skills, and the ability to drive efficiency without compromising quality or safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the review of Issued for Construction (IFC) documentation across all disciplines.
- Identify and resolve interface conflicts between systems during design and pre-construction.
- Assess design assumptions against construction constraints (e.g., logistics, crane reach, sequencing) and recommend buildability improvements.
- Oversee contractor submissions (shop drawings, method statements, materials) to ensure compliance with specs and design intent.
- Drive value engineering exercises to optimize specifications and reduce rework risks.
- Interface with client consultants and internal teams to clarify design intent and resolve technical issues.
2. Construction Methods & Site Logistics
- Define and validate construction approaches for structural works (conventional, jump form, table form), façade installation, and MEP systems.
- Evaluate site logistics plans, including crane placement, hoist routes, material flow, and staging areas.
- Ensure contractor method statements are technically sound and aligned with safety, phasing, and site constraints.
3. Construction Planning & Scheduling
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of the master construction schedule.
- Ensure schedule logic reflects approved methodologies and protects critical path activities.
- Coordinate sequencing across structural, façade, and MEP works to minimize conflicts and optimize workflow.
- Monitor schedule performance and lead recovery planning when required.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 15+ years of experience delivering high-rise projects with a design & build contractor.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination from design through construction.
- Experience supervising design managers and integrating design outputs into construction planning.
- Strong working knowledge of BIM processes and using models for coordination and optimization.
- Hands‑on experience in construction method planning, scheduling, and workflow management.
- Technically grounded, pragmatic, and confident in site‑based problem‑solving and executive reporting.
Education:
- Master’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or related field (preferred).
