Job Description

ICON is seeking a talented Roads and Highway Design Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi office. In this role, you will work on a variety of Roads, Cycle Tracks and highway design projects, applying engineering techniques and analyses to deliver high-quality solutions. During the creation process, you will ensure that our designs meet all necessary design Regulations in UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed drawings, proposal evaluations, technical reports, detailed analyses, and earthwork estimations.
• Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designers, BIM Modellers, and other various disciplines working on the same project, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Produce, review and approve project design drawings from concept to the tender stage.
• Produce, review and approve detailed designs of roundabouts and junctions conforming to ADQCC, AASHTO & DMRB standards.
• Produce, review and approve Technical Specifications for various components involved in the design of the road network.
• Provide engineering support for various project activities as needed.
• May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate size project.
• Participate in the preparation of LOE and Business Development initiatives.
• Perform other relevant responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in highway design, with strong proficiency in Road Designing software like Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Vehicle Tracking.
• Knowledge of BIM software like Navisworks and Revit is a bonus.
• Knowledge of Road Safety, Pavement Design and their related ADQCC standards and construction specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi, Al Ain Dubai and ADQCC standards is an advantage.
