Job Purpose

The role is responsible for the overall risk management of People & Intellectual Capital Group, including the assessment of internal controls within the group, data quality, compliance with audit requirements, information security & data privacy, and mitigation of operational risks. It also ensures effective corporate governance and high‑quality organisational reporting by establishing frameworks, policies and processes that support transparency, accountability and informed decision‑making. The incumbent will coordinate with PICG leadership for data collation and business analytics to track PICG strategic initiatives, and interact with all PICG DRs and leads in an effective and collaborative manner.

Key Result Areas

  • Represent PICG in various risk and governance key forums and committees to drive bank‑wide/PICG‑wide initiatives.
  • Represent PICG in various key forums and committees as assigned by GH to drive bank‑wide PICG initiatives that require PICG resources.
  • Develop and build on relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations, and help define new operational strategies by working with GH‑PICG and other PICG leaders on projects.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications related to PICG Risk, Governance and reporting.
  • Track KPIs and OKRs related to PICG strategic initiatives.
  • Design and implement an overall risk management process for the People & Intellectual Capital Group (PICG) across various locations.
  • Build risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within PICG Group.
  • Lead the review and monitor the global and local SOPs and processes to minimise risk and control gaps; work with the PICG leads to assess the effectiveness of existing processes and controls, ensuring risk is mitigated and controls are effective and operationally sound.
  • Manage the audit requirements, working with the Internal Audit Group and PICG team during audit cycles to ensure the control framework aligns with current operational processes, update controls where required, and support audit findings closure.
  • Develop and oversee PICG corporate governance frameworks, policies and procedures.
  • Identify strategic, operational, financial, regulatory and reputational risks.
  • Lead risk assessments and ensure mitigation actions are implemented.
  • Monitor emerging risks and industry developments.
  • Provide regular risk reporting to executive management.
  • Embed a strong risk culture across the group.
  • Coordinate with internal audit, compliance and governance functions.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Support the leadership team with governance advice and documentation.
  • Oversee preparation and delivery of accurate, timely internal and external reports.
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of management, regulatory and board reporting.
  • Monitor adherence to ethical standards, codes of conduct and governance policies.
  • Act as a key liaison between executive management, the risk team, regulators and auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement in governance and reporting processes.
  • Support the GH‑PICG in the management of the PICG Group with responsibility for group governance, strategy, business analytics, expense management and communication.
  • Proactively check for alignments and integration of PICG action items & initiatives and highlight key observations to GH‑PICG.
  • Support the GH with strategy materials, quarterly reviews with GCEO, EXCO presentations, townhalls, off‑sites and regular PICG communications.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any field with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, interpersonal ability and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR practices is preferred.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Proven success in project coordination and management role.
  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication.
  • Understanding of corporate governance principles and regulatory framework.
  • Excellent reporting, documentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capability.
