Job Summary
We are looking for a High School Head (American Curriculum) for one of our prestigious and international client (School) in Al Ain UAE . The ideal candidate must have proven UAE experience in-depth knowledge of the American curriculum and the ability to lead teaching staff while ensuring compliance with ADEK regulations . This role requires strategic leadership, high academic standards and effective engagement with staff, students, parents and school leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Lead and oversee the implementation of the American Curriculum (Common Core, NGSS, AERO as applicable)
- Ensure high-quality teaching, learning and assessment practices across all high school grades
- Monitor curriculum planning, lesson delivery and student academic progress
- Promote academic excellence and student readiness for college and university pathways
School Operations & Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the high school division
- Ensure full compliance with ADEK policies, inspections and reporting requirements
- Develop and implement academic calendars, timetables and assessment schedules
- Contribute to school improvement plans and strategic initiatives
Staff Leadership & Development
- Lead mentor and evaluate high school teaching and academic staff
- Conduct classroom observations and performance reviews
- Support professional development and continuous instructional improvement
- Foster a collaborative professional and high‑performing school culture
Student Welfare & Discipline
- Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Oversee student behaviour management, attendance and wellbeing
- Address disciplinary matters in line with school policies and UAE regulations
- Support guidance counseling and student leadership programmes
Parent & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians
- Lead parent meetings, academic conferences and school events
- Act as the primary point of contact for high school academic matters
- Represent the school professionally within the local and wider community
Reporting & Strategic Contribution
- Prepare academic and operational reports for senior leadership
- Analyze student performance data to drive continuous improvement
- Support school accreditation processes and ADEK inspections
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership / Education (strongly preferred)
- Minimum 58 years of UAE experience in an American curriculum school
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role (High School Head, Vice Principal, Academic Coordinator or similar)
- Strong knowledge of ADEK standards and UAE education regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage)
