Job Summary

We are looking for a High School Head (American Curriculum) for one of our prestigious and international client (School) in Al Ain UAE . The ideal candidate must have proven UAE experience in-depth knowledge of the American curriculum and the ability to lead teaching staff while ensuring compliance with ADEK regulations . This role requires strategic leadership, high academic standards and effective engagement with staff, students, parents and school leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Lead and oversee the implementation of the American Curriculum (Common Core, NGSS, AERO as applicable)
  • Ensure high-quality teaching, learning and assessment practices across all high school grades
  • Monitor curriculum planning, lesson delivery and student academic progress
  • Promote academic excellence and student readiness for college and university pathways

School Operations & Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the high school division
  • Ensure full compliance with ADEK policies, inspections and reporting requirements
  • Develop and implement academic calendars, timetables and assessment schedules
  • Contribute to school improvement plans and strategic initiatives

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Lead mentor and evaluate high school teaching and academic staff
  • Conduct classroom observations and performance reviews
  • Support professional development and continuous instructional improvement
  • Foster a collaborative professional and high‑performing school culture

Student Welfare & Discipline

  • Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Oversee student behaviour management, attendance and wellbeing
  • Address disciplinary matters in line with school policies and UAE regulations
  • Support guidance counseling and student leadership programmes

Parent & Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with parents and guardians
  • Lead parent meetings, academic conferences and school events
  • Act as the primary point of contact for high school academic matters
  • Represent the school professionally within the local and wider community

Reporting & Strategic Contribution

  • Prepare academic and operational reports for senior leadership
  • Analyze student performance data to drive continuous improvement
  • Support school accreditation processes and ADEK inspections

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject
  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership / Education (strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 58 years of UAE experience in an American curriculum school
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role (High School Head, Vice Principal, Academic Coordinator or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of ADEK standards and UAE education regulations
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage)
