About The Role
We’re looking for a Lead Backend Developer to join our Integrations Squad in Dubai Internet City . This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide a team of backend engineers, design scalable APIs, and manage robust integrations with CRMs, workflow engines, chatbots, and third-party systems.
You’ll be responsible for technical strategy, system performance, and mentoring developers — all while driving meaningful impact for the region’s top businesses using ZIWO.
About The Integrations Squad
The Integrations Squad at ZIWO is a specialized engineering team dedicated to connecting ZIWO’s platform with the tools our customers already use — from CRMs and ticketing systems to workflow engines, chatbots, and analytics platforms. Their mission is to make ZIWO interoperable, extensible, and seamlessly embedded into modern digital ecosystems. Owning key systems such as data connectors, chatbot and IVR integrations, and reporting infrastructure, the squad enables true omnichannel experiences and accelerates customer onboarding with scalable, secure, and reliable integrations. They play a critical role in driving automation, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring ZIWO remains a powerful, central piece of the customer experience stack.
What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the squad’s technical design, backend architecture, and implementation
• Mentor developers and promote engineering best practices
• Build and maintain scalable backend systems and secure APIs
• Develop integrations with CRMs, ticketing systems, workflow tools, and chatbot platforms
• Collaborate with Product Owners and cross-functional teams on feature planning
• Optimize performance and reliability of backend services
• Ensure secure data handling and compliance across integrations
• Drive continuous improvement and technical innovation within the team
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and architecture discussions

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 6+ years of backend development experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
• Proficiency in Node.js, Golang, Python, or similar backend languages
• Deep understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and system design
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and other SQL/NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience with DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong communication and mentoring skills
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus
• Agile methodology experience
