Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor (stores) is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the company’s stores, ensuring that they are well-maintained and in optimal working condition.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of mechanical systems, such as HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, and electrical systems to meet Logistics & Central Stores requirements.
- Ensure that all installations comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other workers to execute installation plans.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Replace defective parts and components as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of MEP systems.
- Conduct functional tests on MEP systems to ensure proper performance before project handover.
- Report any defects or issues discovered during testing and recommend necessary repairs or improvements.
- Work in compliance with health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of the team and site workers.
- Wear appropriate protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols at all times.
- Report any unsafe working conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and reports.
- Provide feedback to supervisors on progress, issues, and any potential improvements.
- Keep detailed project records of system repairs, replacements, and parts used.
- Work alongside other tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians) to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Ensure that all MEP installations and repairs meet high-quality standards.
- Conduct final inspections of systems to ensure compliance with building codes and specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot malfunctions in MEP systems to determine the root cause.
- Suggest appropriate solutions or repairs, ensuring that systems are restored to full functionality quickly.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and test instruments to evaluate system performance and identify potential issues.
- Recommend improvements to increase energy efficiency or enhance the performance of existing systems.
- Participate in training sessions or certifications to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of MEP.
- Assist in training junior operatives or apprentices on the proper procedures and safety protocols.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role
- Solid understanding of maintenance procedures and tools
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in maintenance management is a plus
