Summary

Responsible for leading the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems, with a primary focus on conveyor systems used in industrial, manufacturing, or logistics environments. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

(Include but not limited to the following)

  • Design and develop conveyor systems including belt, roller, chain, and custom conveyors.
  • Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Perform engineering calculations (e.g., belt tension, load distribution, shaft sizing, drive selection).
  • Generate bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and fabrication drawings.
  • Select mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, and pulleys.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, controls, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
  • Support product development, prototyping, and on-site commissioning when required.
  • Conduct design reviews and implement design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues during production or installation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in mechanical project engineering, preferably with conveyor or material handling systems.
  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS).
  • Knowledge of conveyor industry standards.
  • Field installation or commissioning experience.
