Must be a British citizen to meet compliance and security clearance requirements. Office location will be a satellite site in the South West, with occasional travel to London.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Information Security or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience with IP Networking, Internet Service Providers, Network Protocols, Border Gateway Protocol, or Network Troubleshooting.
- Experience designing and implementing secure and resilient networks using multiple technologies.
- Previous or currently active UK Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with scalable cloud networking concepts (such as Load Balancers, Firewalls) and web standards (such as REST APIs, web security mechanisms).
- Experience managing or directing field operation technicians, engineers, and extended workforces in a telecommunications environment.
- Experience with software defined networking, scripting and automation, network architecture, or MPLS L3 VPN.
- Excellent partner management, follow-through, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and communication skills.

The UK Sovereign Operations team in Google Public Sector delivers, operates and secures private cloud services. We aim to provide the flexibility, reliability, and scalability of public cloud for customers with high security requirements that can only be met in a private cloud environment. We deliver and operate these private cloud deployments for the most critical customers, helping scale, secure and maintain the deployment and working closely with Google product teams to continually improve our technology.
Responsibilities
- Engage and improve the whole life-cycle of private/secure networks from inception and design, to qualification and validation, through deployment, operation.
- Assist engineering and operations teams in building an ecosystem of integration, software automation within private/secure networks.
- Work cross-functionally to design, develop, and validate product introductions of network and computing hardware, solutions, and technologies.
- Provide technical implementation and operational support in customer environments, including guidance on implementation feasibility of cross-product integrations.
