JOB OPENING: QC ENGINEER

ACE VISION METAL AND STEEL WORKS LLC – DUBAI

Experience: 3-5 years in the steel construction industry.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

1. Conduct and oversee quality inspections for all fabrication and painting activities in the workshop, ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
2. Perform dimensional checks, welding inspections, fit-up verification, and surface preparation assessments as per approved ITPs and QCPs.
3. Monitor and verify painting procedures, material application, DFT checks, curing conditions, and surface finish requirements in accordance with client and international standards.
4. Review and interpret fabrication and shop drawings (Tekla, AutoCAD) to ensure accuracy and compliance during production.
5. Ensure traceability of materials, welders’ qualifications, and consumables used in fabrication and painting works.
6. Prepare and maintain detailed inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation in line with ISO and client requirements.
7. Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs), coordinate with production teams for corrective actions, and follow up on implementation.
8. Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors during fabrication and final inspection stages.
9. Coordinate with engineering and site teams to resolve technical issues and clarify fabrication/painting-related queries.
10. Ensure workshop operations are in compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
11. Must hold ASNT NDT Level II certification (UT, MT, PT, VT) and CSWIP Painting Inspector Grade 2 certification.
12. Proficient in identifying welding defects, paint failures, and recommending appropriate rectification methods.
13. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the GCC within structural steel fabrication and painting works.
14. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with clients, consultants, and internal departments.
15. Capable of training shop personnel on quality standards and best practices related to fabrication and coating works.
