Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in acoustic design and simulation on consumer electronic products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience including leading acoustic design and simulation for consumer electronics.
  • Experience with acoustic test tools (e.g., SoundCheck, Klippel, Audio Precision, Polytec, etc.) and simulation tools (e.g., Abaqus, COMSOL, Ares, etc.).
  • Experience in shipping end-to-end acoustic solutions, from product concept through production.
  • Experience leading acoustic solutions for mobile phone, wearable, or hearable products.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, including translating technical tradeoffs to customer impact, influencing product decisions, navigating and resolving ambiguity.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead wearables acoustic architecture design and simulation.
  • Define optimized micro-speaker integration and microphone porting guidelines, including wind noise mitigation.
  • Conduct acoustic simulations (lumped sum and finite element methods) and lab testing of acoustic modules and products to validate performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional design, engineering, product, operations teams to achieve acoustic solutions balancing ambitious performance, space, cost, and user experience goals.
  • Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to scope new components and technologies.
