Experience : 8 – 10 years of experience in the same field

Qualification required : Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, CIS

Main Tasks

• Manage the Databases for all 30+ applications (Sheryan, eClaim, Hasana, Thapi, PREM/PROM, etc) from database installation and configuration (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), set up development, test, and production environments to database design and implementation.
• Collaborate with developers and architects to design efficient database schemas and implement normalization, indexing, and partitioning strategies for optimal performance monitoring and tuning.
• Monitoring query performance, disk usage, and system load. Optimize queries, indexes, and storage to ensure fast response times.
• Develop and test backup strategies. Ensure recovery procedures are in place and regularly tested to prevent data loss.
• Manage user access and permissions based on roles. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.
• Run regular maintenance tasks (e.g., integrity checks, vacuuming, statistics updates). Validate data consistency across systems.
• Respond to database outages and performance issues. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) after major incidents and participate in on-call rotations or escalated support scenarios.
• Set up and manage replication, clustering, and failover systems to maintain high availability. Create DR plans and participate in disaster recovery drills.
• Apply software updates and patches to address security vulnerabilities and bugs. Coordinate downtime with stakeholders.
• Respond to user queries and troubleshoot database-related application issues. Collaborate with system administrators and developers to resolve issues.
• Maintain database documentation (e.g., configurations, procedures, standards). Enforce naming conventions, data standards, and version control.
• Coordinate with the vendor and partners to effectively implement solution and ensure timely delivery with adhere to the policy, procedure and security requirements.
