Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in a data-intensive role such as threat intelligence, data science, trust and safety, or fraud analysis.
- 5 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Experience working with SQL or Python.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering).
- Experience in cyber-security, incident response, threat intelligence or threat detection.
- Experience with metrics design, process design or automation in the adversarial space.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python.
- Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to stakeholders at different levels with excellent data analysis, SQL and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

Join our new, dynamic Trust and Safety Account Threats team in Seattle, collaborating with our existing teams in Zurich and Bangalore. We are building a dedicated group focused on rapid incident response to protect billions of users from account compromise, scaled account abuse, and other emerging threats.

A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.
Responsibilities
- Drive the response for high priority/severity account security incidents, conducting through RCAs (Root Cause Analyses) to inform and implement sustainable long-term solutions.
- Use large-scale data analysis to discover and interpret new ways attackers are compromising Google accounts or are creating and using them for abuse, identifying weak points in our systems.
- Lead efforts to further evolve our response capability (through automation, process improvements or new ideas for threat hunting), how we track changes in the threat landscape, or our communication and influence (e.g., for new areas of threats and protections).
- Partner with the broader team, Program Manager (PM) and Engineering to identify, prioritize and develop strong strategies against the most pressing and novel threats.
- Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage/holidays.
